Two decades of growth
ITE HCMC launched in 2005 as a regional trade event. Over two decades, it has grown into one of Vietnam’s main platforms for international tourism promotion. The expo has connected government agencies, local authorities, businesses, and global partners, shaping Vietnam’s tourism image and expanding cooperation.
In its early years, the event attracted about 210 exhibitors, 120 international buyers from 18 countries, and roughly 3,200 B2B appointments. By 2026, exhibitors and buyers have more than doubled, while B2B meetings have increased eightfold. This growth highlights the expo’s role as a key networking hub for the global tourism industry.
The event has also created tangible business opportunities. It has spurred new tourism products, cooperation agreements, and investment deals, strengthening Vietnam’s position in the sector. The shift from government-led initiatives to partnerships with private enterprises, airlines, and international organizations reflects broader changes in Vietnam’s tourism strategy.

Partnerships drive expansion
Collaboration between public and private sectors has been central to the expo’s success. Businesses, airlines, and international partners have provided resources and improved networking opportunities. This model has allowed the event to expand without relying entirely on public funding.
The 20th-anniversary milestone marks the most significant expansion in the Expo’s history. The strong implementation of the policy of mobilizing social resources and leveraging public-private partnerships has enhanced the quality of B2B networking, international buyer hosting, and professional programs.
